Carers Advice

Are You a Carer?

This does not necessarily mean in any formal way. But if someone is dependent on you for shopping, collecting their medication, helping with washing maybe then you are a “carer”.   We are sure that we have dozens of patients that have not been acknowledge in this role.  It does not have anything to do with claiming benefits necessarily and you can be family, friend or a neighbour.

Are you feeling quite isolated and feel you could do with some support.  This maybe in the form of meeting other carers, or just getting some “me time” from this role.  The Moat House Surgery has signed up for the GP Prescription Service Early Adopter Scheme.  This is a new idea to improve recognition and help for carers.

If you have not already done so please use the online form below to register as a carer. This will allow us to code your records stating the person you are carer for (you must get their approval to do this).  Once you are added to the list it will be easier for you to get any help you may need.   It could be that everything is fine just now, but this situation can change and by recognising your status as a carer does not mean you will be contacted unless you request help.
